Start your tour in Cairo by a visit to the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East, the Famous Cairo’s Citadel and Coptic Cairo. In the morning you will get picked up from your hotel/hostel to start your eventful day. Firstly, you will have a visit to The Egyptian Museum. Explore the treasures of king Tutankhamen along with the largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities in the world. After seeing the impressive Pharaonic artifacts, you will be heading to The Citadel of Cairo and The Great Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha to explore Cairo’s Islamic history. The citadel dates back to the Middle Ages and is located on the Muqattam Hills to give it a powerful defensive position. From up there you will have an unrestricted panoramic view of Cairo that would leave you astonished. The Mosque of Muhammad Ali is located inside the Citadel of Salah al‑Din. The mosque is built in an Ottoman design with marble paneling on its interior and exterior walls. After that, your guide will accompany you to the Coptic part of Cairo to see The Church of Saint Sergius and Bacchus, one of the oldest churches in Egypt. The church is built upon an ancient Roman fort in Old Cairo and dates back to approximately the 17th century AD. The church is a part of the holy family’s journey and that’s why you should never miss visiting! Next, you will be visiting the oldest synagogue in Egypt, Ben ‘Ezra Synagogue. The synagogue is named after Abraham ibn ‘Ezra, the Jewish religious scholar and philosopher. After this informative tour around Egypt’s rich history and the three theologies’ Egyptian landmarks, you will get dropped off at your hotel/ hostel.
